Camilo Beach Lagos Algarve
Camilo Beach in Lagos on Portugal's Algarve is known for its secluded coves and sandstone rocks.
The sheltered beach is reached by a set of 200 very steep, wooden steps from the headland above.
The clear water is excellent for swimming and the sandstone rock formations here are some of the best on this stretch of stunning coastline.
There's a restaurant on the cliffs above the beach with spectacular views.
Care should be taken with sheltering in the shade of the rock pillars on the beach as the stacks are liable for rock falls.
The next place of interest south from Praia do Camilo is Ponta da Piedade.
