Santa Justa Elevador Lisbon
The Elevador de Santa Justa ((Elevador do Carmo) is a pictuesque lift in the centre of Lisbon just off Rossio.
Originally powered by steam, the lift took two years to construct and opened in 1902.
45 meters in height, the Neo-gothic style lift was converted to electric power in 1907. There are great views of Rossio, Lisbon Castle and the Baixa. Each of the two wooden compartments holds 24 people.
