Tascardoso, Principe Real, Lisbon
Tacardoso is a restaurant in the Bairro Alto district of Lisbon close to Jardim do Príncipe Real. This small eatery has a stand-up bar on the ground floor with the seats down below.
The menu offers authentic Portuguese favorites including Sardinhas grelhadas (grilled sardines), Polvo Grelhado (grilled octopus) and Bife a Portuguesa (steak Portuguese style). The Arroz doce (rice pudding) dessert comes recommended.
There are vegetables and salads on the menu but this is not really a restaurant suitable for vegetarians.

The nearest Lisbon metro stations to Jardim do Príncipe Real are either Rossio or Restauradores.
Take the popular Elevador da Glória up to the Miradouro (Viewpoint) de São Pedro de Alcântara in the Jardim de São Pedro de Alcântara and walk from there.
Alternatively, take tram #24E or a Lisbon bus either the 202 or 758 from Cais do Sodre.
