Close to Campo Grande Station and the Museum of Lisbon (Pimenta Palace) is the Jardim Mário Soares, a public garden now named after the former politician. The park was previously known as the Jardim do Campo Grande.

A thin strip running north-south from Campo Grande to the Entrecampos roundabout, the park is one of the largest in downtown Lisbon and covers an area of over 60,000 square meters.

There are lots of places to exercise or play sports including a public table tennis table, padel courts, and a branch of Go-Fit with a swimming pool.

At the northern end of the park is a statue of Afonso Henriques, Portugal's first monarch as well as a statue of Dom João I, close by.

Here and there are a number of eateries and bars for refreshments such as the BarNeário Gastrobar and the Italian restaurant Tutti a Tavola.

Other parks and gardens in Lisbon include the Jardim Afonso Albuquerque in Belem, the nearby Parque Eduardo VII, the pleasant Jardim Amália Rodrigues and Gulbenkian Garden.

Hotels in this area include the Radisson Blu Hotel Lisbon, NH Lisboa Campo Grande, and Hotel 3K Europa, the latter two closer to Entrecampos metro station.
