The Ayuntamiento de Badajoz (Town Hall) in Badajoz in western Spain lies in the city's central square Plaza de España, close to Badajoz Cathedral (Catedral Metropolitana de San Juan Bautista de Badajoz).
The current Town Hall dates from 1852, replacing the original structure that had fallen into disrepair. In 1889, a clock was added to the building. Further renovations took place in 1937 under the direction of municipal architect Rodolfo Martínez.

The façade of the Town Hall is a good example of classical architecture. It features a series of arches at the entrance and Tuscan columns on the upper floor. The building is topped with a balustrade and a wrought iron pinnacle housing a bell, beneath which lies the town clock.
Outside the building is a statue of the 16th-century painter Luis de Morales ("El Divino"). Erected in 1925, the bronze sculpture was crafted by the Extremaduran artist Gabino Amaya and funded through public subscription. The artist is depicted seated with his palette and brushes in hand.

La Piedad |
Luis de Morales (1509-1586), believed to have been born in Badajoz around 1509, was a pivotal figure in Spanish Renaissance art. His works are characterized by their spiritual intensity and meticulous detail, reflecting influences from both Italian and Flemish schools. Morales operated a workshop in Badajoz and produced numerous religious paintings that gained him widespread acclaim during his lifetime. He is thought to have died in 1586, with his remains interred at the now-defunct Hospital de la Piedad in Badajoz.
The statue's pedestal features a relief of "La Piedad," one of Morales' masterpieces housed within nearby Badajoz Cathedral. Visitors can view several of his original works at the Museum of the Cathedral, which also showcases pieces by other notable artists, including one painting by El Greco.
